Pick ourselves up and carry on

When I first saw this picture I thought it was cute and funny. It was meaningful – encouraging us to pick ourselves up and move on. As I thought further, I realized how much more meaningful it is. The orange peel is the ‘’outer’’ us, our cover, the exterior that protects us and is seen by others. Our ‘’inside’’ is the actual flesh that is being ‘’carried’’ here – what remains inside when the exterior is broken. We have to carry on, despite being broken, and maintain our essence, and carry on. Our exterior has to be strong, and continue to protect, and carry on.
